With the Cut Print feature you can print your documents on Letter paper, and your machine will cut the paper in half automatically.
Both glossy and inkjet paper can be cut. If you're not sure about your paper type, select “Inkjet Paper”.
The following options are not available with the Cut Print feature:
- The “N in 1” page layout option.
- The Borderless print option.
- Printing from the manual feed slot in macOS.
Follow the instructions below based on your document and desired Cut Type:
Cut Type: Letter-sized documents automatically resized to Half Letter size
Your machine automatically resizes Letter documents to Half Letter size, prints them side-by-side on Letter paper, and then cuts the paper in half.
a. Select the print command in your application.
b. Select your Brother printer, and then click the printer’s properties or preferences button. The printer driver window appears.
c. Click the Print Profiles tab.
d. Select Cut Print (Letter): Fit to Cut Page .
e. Change other printer settings, if needed.
f. Click OK , and then complete your print operation.
AirPrint can be used with the Cut Print feature.
If you print an even number of pages, they are arranged on the page as shown in the illustration.
a. Load Letter-sized paper in the tray.
b. On the machine press ( Settings) → All Settings → General Setup → Paper Size → Letter .
c. From your application, select File → Print .
These instructions are for using Safari. The steps may vary for other applications and layout adjustment may be necessary.
d. Select your Brother machine.
e. Select the Statement paper size from the "Paper Size" menu. Click "Show Details" if you don't see this
f. Select any other desired options.
Cut Type: Half Letter size documents
Your machine prints a Half Letter document on Letter paper, and then cuts the paper in half.
The blank half of the cut page can be used for copying.
a. Select the print command in your application.
b. Select your Brother printer, and then click the printer’s properties or preferences button. The printer driver window appears.
c. Click the Print Profiles tab.
d. Select Cut Print (Half Letter) .
e. Change other printer settings, if needed.
f. Click OK , and then complete your print operation.
AirPrint can be used with the Cut Print feature.
If you print an odd number of pages, the bottom half of the last printed page is blank as shown below.
a. Load Letter-sized paper in the tray.
b. On the machine press ( Settings) → All Settings → General Setup → Paper Size → Letter .
c. From your application, select File → Print .

Cut Type: Letter documents printed without resizing (Windows only)

c. Click the Print Profiles tab.
d. Select Cut Print (Letter):No Resize .
e. Change other printer settings, if needed.
f. Click OK , and then complete your print operation.
